Is this religious?
No. Coherva treats wisdom traditions as repositories of documented human experience — not as belief systems. We study what practitioners across 5,000 years reported about states of stillness, coherence, and attention. We then map those reports to peer-reviewed neuroscience. You do not need to hold any belief to use Coherva. You need only be willing to practise.
Is the science real?
Yes — and we are specific about what kind. Every claim on Coherva is labelled PROVEN (peer-reviewed, replicated), THEORETICAL (proposed mechanism, not yet fully confirmed), or EMERGING (active research, promising but incomplete). We cite sources. We do not overstate. The HeartMath research on HRV coherence is robust. The contemplative neuroscience is growing. We tell you which is which.
Is this a meditation app?
No. Meditation apps train attention. Coherva integrates attention, physiological coherence, tradition, and personalised AI guidance into a single daily practice system. The practices are grounded in HRV biofeedback research, not mindfulness frameworks. The difference in daily experience is significant.
What does "coherence" actually mean?
A specific, measurable physiological state. Heart rate variability coherence refers to a synchronised rhythm between the heart, brain, and autonomic nervous system — documentable via HRV analysis. A coherence score is not a metaphor. It is derived from RMSSD (root mean square of successive differences) in RR intervals, mapped against a reference curve developed by the HeartMath Institute. Do I need a wearable device?
No. The full Coherva practice works without any device. If you have an HRV-capable wearable (Polar H10, Oura Ring, Garmin), it integrates directly and adds live biometric data to your dashboard. If not, a 60-second morning check-in provides enough context for your Coherva Guide to generate personalised insights.
What makes this different from other wellness products?
